Accessibility at Bled Castle

Information for visitors with reduced mobility and other accessibility needs.

Bled Castle is a historic medieval fortress, and due to its architecture and location on a steep cliff, it presents challenges for visitors with mobility issues. We are committed to providing as much information as possible to help you plan your visit. For information on discounted tickets, see our free & reduced tickets page.

Mobility Information

Wheelchair Access: Unfortunately, Bled Castle is not wheelchair accessible. The historic nature of the site includes steep paths, uneven surfaces, and numerous stairs connecting the different levels and courtyards. The path from the upper car park to the ticket office is particularly steep.

Visitors with Limited Mobility: Visitors who can manage short, steep walks and stairs may be able to access parts of the castle. We recommend arriving by car to the upper car park to minimize the uphill walk. However, please be aware that navigating the castle interior will still require climbing stairs.

Parking: There are some accessible parking spaces available in the car parks. Displaying a valid disability badge is required.
